The Capuchin catacombs in Palermo, Sicily, are one of our second set of Six Impossible Episodes. The Capuchin community in Palermo was established in 1534 at the church of Santa Maria della Pace, and the catacombs beneath it are now home to more than 8,000 preserved bodies. These pictures were taken from the 1920s through the 2000s.
