Show Notes: Jane Addams Part 2

Tracy Wilson

American Social Reformer Jane Addams. Image by © Bettmann/CORBIS

Our previous episode recounted Jane Addams' social reform work as it related to Hull House, the Chicago social settlement that operated in Chicago for more than 100 years. Today, we take a look at her as a philosopher, along with her advocacy work and her antiwar activism during World War I.

Our listener mail is from Margaret, who wrote to us about our episode on Selman Waksman and the cure for tuberculosis. It's a correction with some commentary from us about Charlotte Bronte's cause of death.
